Jim Roehr. Guests: Christine Winkelman. Meeting called to order by
Pres. Benter, next meeting Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 9:30am.
Reading of Minutes: Motion to accept the minutes by Kurt, second by
Ted, motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Motion to accept by Dona, second by Debbie,
motion carried.
Old Business: FISH COMMITTEE: Louie talked to the Fish Hatchery.
Northern will cost about $5.00 per fish and Perch will be about same
as last time. Fish Committee has decided to go with the larger
Northern vs. smaller ones. There may be a slightly higher fee because
of additional certification required by DNR. He also spoke with Laura
about tagging the carp, she will tag the five if they fike net in
Spring, (which has already been approved by FLILPRD and funded), if
they don’t fike net, she’ll tag in Fall when they do the
electro-shock. Turn the tags into a Board Member or Fish Contest
Registrar. No Commercial Fishermen can participate. Motion by Dona ,
second by Kurt, motion carried Dona & Louie will create posters to
put up when the carp are tagged and they will remind fishermen that
it‘s illegal to return rough fish to the lake. Dona will make a press
release for the Representative when this occurs. Dona reported that
two people have applied and received license to commercial fish for
carp, one is Kallenbach and the other is Doug Hunt who would fish with
Bill Kamp. Motion by Dona, second by Ted, to continue the FLPO
Fishing Contest, May through September, motion carried. PARADE OF
HOMES: Lou reports it’s moving right along, there’s about 60
reservations so far. She’ll line up pontoons when it gets closer to
the event. SPECIAL FRIENDS OUTING: Louie has contacted the two
groups with the date and will let us know when he hears from them.
Decided against having Klancy, it’s a very busy event as it is. PIG
ROAST: Christine Winkelman who recently bought a place on Fox Lake
has volunteered run the Kids Games for this years event. She will try
to get a juggler, donated goldfish for a contest, fortune teller……and
high school kids to volunteer to help run the games. She will look
into these and more (maybe a bounce house) and return next meeting.
Ed confirmed our caterer, “Boss Hog” from Posh Pig Catering will come
on Friday to start roasting the 180# pig, plus pork shoulder, chicken
and more! They serve and everything, all we need is a cashier. Will
serve 12-3. Having barrel beer was brought up and Dona will check
into it, along with having Miller/Bud print our posters, and get back
to Ed/Deb so they can word them. Lou suggested we have time frames
for each event, something like “FLPO Boss Hog Pig Roast” featuring:
Nancy’s Ice Cream 11-5, Gambling 11-5, Music by Denmarc Classic Rock
1-5, Kids Tents 1-4, Sheepshead 11-?, Food 12-3, Grill 11-5 (Ted said
burgers and brats), Bar 11-5, Cash Drawing at 5pm. This will be
worded into our posters. Debbie and Ted will distribute them. Ted
will order brats/dogs from Brownsville. GOLF OUTING: Debbie booked
August 18, said it would cost $30 per person including cart/golf.
Louie, Tom and Lou have offered to serve sandwiches. The event, a 4
man scramble would start at 10am, ending approximately 3pm. We will
charge $40 per person includes golf/cart/sandwich. It will be in the
April newsletter, people can call Debbie with their RSVP by 5/15/07.
Any Other Old Business: Dona reported on Fish ‘n Fun’s 7th Annual
Ice Fishing Tourney which “netted” us $450! ($350 from entry fees and
$100 from Jeff Vandezande).
New Business: WEBSITE: It was discussed whether we’d like to join
with Town of Fox Lake, Plant Committee and FLILPRD in a website.
Costs total around $500 start up and about $9 monthly, would be split
evenly. Motion by Kurt, second by Ted, motion carried. PONTOON RIDES
FOR FUN FEST: Ed asked if anyone would give pontoon rides for the COC
Fun Fest, maybe charge and split between the two…nobody really wants
to do that, liability, already volunteer for two or more other events.
CONCERTS IN THE PARK: The question of donating again (gave $100 last
year) was brought up…Ted Kahlow would like to see the budget first,
table until 4/14. Ed will get the info and bring next meeting.

Motion to adjourn: by Kurt, second by Ted, motion carried.
