April 14, 2007 Monthly Meeting
Minutes of the meeting of the Fox Lake Property Owners, April 14, 2007, 9:30am, Fox Lake Town Hall. Absent Board Members: Ed Benter, Butch Wagner. Guests: Steve Speidel, George & Judy Salaj, Tom Labs. Meeting called to order by VP/Secy. Dona Turgeon, next meeting Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 9:30am. Minutes: Motion to accept as written by Kurt, second by Tim, motion carried. Treasurer’s Report: Motion to accept by Bob, second by Kurt, motion carried. OLD BUSINESS: Fish Committee: Louie spoke with Laura and they did fike netting 3/26 and tagged one carp 18.2”, 2 lb, 4 oz., for the contest. He will explain we wanted 5 tagged. Dona & Louie will get posters made and posted. Parade of Homes: Homes are Zak & Timmel on Blackhawk, Herbrand and Korp on Howard, Kocher on Private Howard. We have only 25 tickets left. Special Friends Outing: Louie hasn’t heard back from group/s yet. Pig Roast: We’ll go with can beer. Deb Green sent information to beer companies to print our posters. The same group will solicit door prizes, some may be used for the Golf Outing. Lou noted Tom & Nancy Minske paid for printing of all tickets and stapled them too. Louie requested to take the gun to Waupun Amer. Legion and the girl there will sell tickets for us. Tom notes concerns about beer not cold last year, we’ll p.u. cold, store in sliding door cooler and make beer runs if we run out, along with tubs and ice. No one is interested in kids tee shirts or beer cozies at this time, either too much money or don’t think they’d sell. Golf Outing: 20 committed so far. Deb Green reiterated that she needs to know if she’ll have the 72 by the end of May. She’s posted sings at the Golf Course. Dona will try to get signs posted at the resorts/etc. Concerts in the Park: This had been tabled from last month because Ted requested an accounting before moving forward on any donation. Ed supplied the accounting and motion was made by Tom, seconded by Doris to donate $250 to the event this year. Motion carried. Audience expressed interest in donating more if they would extend the season. Dona will contact Bonnie Skaar and bring information next meeting. Website Responsibility: It was suggested that Dona Turgeon might be able to take care of the website upkeep, since no one else volunteered, Dona will try it for a year. NEW BUSINESS: Directors 2007-08: Dona Turgeon, Tom Mueller, Debbie Green, terms are up and they agreed to run again. Kurt Heckl and Butch Wagner terms are also up but they do not care to run again. We explained to the audience that anyone can run for empty spots and any board member whose terms are up. Steve Speidel expressed some interest. We asked all to get the word out to fill empty seats, etc. Any Other New Business: Louie brought up about condominiums, Tom Labs thinks we should be more political, take a stance. Kurt Heckl reminded us we could have a lot of clout. Dona asked if someone wanted to write a letter regarding these issues if it could be submitted to the newsletter, it was agreed it could and people were instructed to submit to Ed if they had anything. Dona suggested the issue of becoming “more political” be put on next months agenda. Motion to Adjourn: Motion by Tim, second by Ted, motion carried.
