ANY OTHER OLD BUSINESS: Dona addressed last month’s question from Tom Labs regarding Town donating to Beaver Dam Lake and not Fox Lake…..at that time it was explained they do that because BD pays for Lake Patrol and ramp maintenance. Anyway, she suggested we continue to keep track of $$$ donated toward carp removal and when the District runs out of money maybe we could match those funds and then go to Town to ask for donation. Dona also reported she and Mike have made/installed the Lifetime Member plaque for Louie at Town Park. Ted reported having a problem getting picnic tables painted due to high winds, he’s still planning to finish the job. Louie talked to Jim Slawny and it was agreed Louie should purchase the misplaced bag and bring receipt next month. NEW BUSINESS: Survey Results. Ed reported only one response to survey. It referenced supporting the Library Expansion. He also received a letter from a member who stated we should have more info regarding weed control and continue to work with other organizations….letter also applauded fish stocking/carp removal/concerts in park. Only one response to help with Pig Roast. Ed asks for any other input. Dona received verbal from a couple members stating they would like things more “social”…..when people first move here maybe they don’t know how to meet other people, maybe return to local businesses for meetings. Dona also mentioned another verbal input regarding having prisoners pull weeds. Butch suggested we get more info out regarding who’s responsible for what, i.e.; weeds and carp is the Inland Lake Districts responsibility. Regarding asking the Town for carp removal money, he thinks the Inland Lake takes care of that and if they ever need more money for that THEY will come to the Town. It was discussed that Ed can reiterate in our next newsletter. Louie mentioned BD has a luncheon in summer for their annual meeting and get good response, maybe we could try that. Lou mentioned our winter social is growing. Doris mentioned we bring these ideas up there…..Lou mentioned repeat Survey/Pig Roast Volunteers in August newsletter. Louie heard comment that the survey was on a two-sided page and people didn’t want to send it in. August we’ll do as separate sheet, in color. Jim discussed that people don’t know for sure what our organization does do…..Dona volunteered to condense part of the By-Laws into a Mission Statement for Ed to look over and put in next newsletter. Butch mentioned that Lake Emily has had weed problems last 4 years, now they have no weeds and an oxygen problem, it’s only .5 at bottom there. Dona asked how is Fox Lake’s oxygen, Butch said according to Dennis VanderWerf we’re fine. Lou mentioned they’ve poisoned weeds in Lake Emily the last two years. Fishing Contest: Winners were Joanie Moeller/Lee Golly 11.5 Crappie (tie), Betty Beistle 12” Perch, Dennis Pufahl 20.5” Walleye, Charles Iwen 9-5/8” Bluegill.
