MINUTES OF FOX LAKE PROPERTY OWNERS, INC. Sat. October 4, 2008 at Fox Lake Town Hall. Present: Ed Benter, Dona Turgeon, Jim Roehr, George Salaj, Tom Mueller, Doris Rottman, Tim Meekma,, Linda Knueppel, Treasurer-Lou Benter and supporting members present-Louis Leizinger. Absent: Bob Bergmann and Bill Knueppel. Meeting called to order by President Ed Benter @ 9:30 A.M. It was agreed not to read the minutes. Motion made by Dona, seconded by Doris to approve the minutes of the August meeting. All in favor motion carried Treasurer report: Submitted by Lou. Motion by Dona, seconded by Tom to accept, motion carried. Fish Committee: Louis reported that on September 19, 2008, 4,000 5-7" Perch and 8,000 3-5" Perch along with 3,500 5-11" were stocked by Gollon Hatcheries with many volunteers. Fish all looked good and healthy. The Perch and Walleye were bucketed in. On 9/26/08 375 11-20" Northern were stocked by Gollon and volunteers….these however were shot right in from the tanker, some of these fish were so large they were getting stuck in the tube so had to be netted in! Also, the DNR should be doing a fish shock sometime in October. Following are tentative 2009 events. Winter Get Together, Sunday, January 25th either Hayes or Schaumburg's (if Hayes chooses to pass), Lou will look into this. Parade of Homes will be chaired by Linda again, tentative date is Saturday, June 20th. Special Friends Outing will be chaired by Louie and Doris and tentative date is Saturday, June 27th. We will most likely have an Annual Fund Raiser, although not Pig Roast, many ideas being looked into and the tentative date is Saturday, July 18th. Maybe a pancake breakfast either at Community Center or maybe at the Boat House……or something involving the four eateries around the lake, Spaghetti Dinner, Pizza Party, Scavenger Hunt…..Linda will get some Pancake Breakfast details, Ed will talk to Hayes, Lou has talked to Kathy at Boathouse…..whatever we do, we may try to keep it on the lake. More to be discussed next meeting. Golf Outing tentative date will be Saturday, August 15 and Bill was volunteered by Linda to chair, with her and Dona's help. We will also sponsor and staff another Concerts In The Park, Ed will talk to Bonnie about the date then someone will need to chair that event coordinating parking attendants and vendors (probably just popcorn and soda). New Business: Motion by Dona, seconded by Tim to join the Chamber of Commerce, dues $100 a year, after discussion of how much free advertising we've received from them in the past. All in favor, motion carried. To replace Board Member Debbie Green it was suggested by Lou that John Prochnow may be interested, if not, she would be willing to fill the spot until June 2009. She will talk to John Prochnow. Debbie Green also leaves the VP spot open, Tim Meekma volunteered, no opposition, thank you Tim. Fish Contest: No word from Ted Kahlow, he has been picking up the slips from our participating resorts…..Lou will call Ted and if he hasn't done that, she will go around and get the slips and pay any qualified winners. Instead of monthly meetings during winter, it was discussed and decided to have them every other month so there will be no November meeting, meet in December, February and April, then each month thereafter. Other New Business: Dona asked if we need do anything about non-attending Support Board Members, no decision was made…..George asked if we've ever published a Member Directory to be given to members……after some discussion it was decided not to do that.
