MINUTES OF FOX LAKE PROPERTY OWNERS, INC. Sat. February 7, 2009 at Fox Lake Town Hall Present: Ed Benter, Doris Rottman, Tom Mueller, Tim Meekma, Linda Knueppel, Jon Prochnow Treasurer-Lou Benter. Absent: Bill Knueppel, Jim Rohr, Bob Bergman. George Salaj and Dona Turgeon. Supporting member present: Louis Leizinger. Meeting called to order by President Ed Benter @ 9:45 A.M. Motion made by Doris and seconded by Linda to approve the minutes of the December meeting. All in favor motion carried Treasurer report: Submitted by Lou. Motion made by Tom and seconded by Doris to accept report. All in favor motion carried. Fish Committee: Louis stated that the fish committee had nothing new to report. He also stated that the aerators on Fox Lake have been turned on and that someone on a four-wheeler had run through the ropes surrounding the helixors. He will call a committee meeting to discuss fish stocking for 2009 and bring a recommendation to the Board. Lou Benter has prepared folders with all the necessary information regarding the fishing contest, will distribute these to the three businesses collecting registrations and will pick up the information monthly. A communication received from Bonnie Skaar listed the bands for the 2009 Concerts in the Park and stated that FLPO could have first choice in selecting the evening to sell concessions. The Board selected the August 7, 2009 date when Steve Young, a German band, will be playing. We will serve bratwurst, hot dogs and soft drinks. The only recommendation for naming the July 18, 2009 fund raiser was received from Doris Curley. The Board liked her suggestion and the event will be called “Round Robin on the Lake”. Some details for the” Round Robin on the Lake” have been finalized. There will be a scavenger hunt from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The winning raffle tickets will be drawn at 7:30 p.m. Tim reported that he had heard that Christine Winkelman will run children’s games at Hayes Resort. Three generous property owners, Kurt & Jeannette Steinke, Louis Leizinger and an anonymous donor will support a meat raffle as one of the fund raising raffles. Linda made a motion seconded by Doris to sell meat raffle tickets at a cost of $5.00 per ticket or three for $10.00 with a first prize of $150.00 and a second prize of $100.00 in certificates from Brandon Meats and that three tickets be included in the June mailing, just as with the money raffle. All in favor motion carried. Linda made a motion seconded by Tim to provide a $25.00 gift certificate for Brandon Meats for the individual who sells the most meat raffle tickets. A second “electronics raffle” was discussed as a possibility to include a portable DVD player, an IPOD and a stereo music system with an IPOD dock. Tim and John will investigate the cost of offering these items on a raffle and report back in April. Donations to support such a raffle are needed or FLPO may purchase these with available funds. Linda indicated that she will get out confirming letters to those persons volunteering their homes for the Parade of Homes on June 20th and to Fish n’ Fun for the lunch. Lou will take reservations for this event. Tim reported there is a hearing in Madison on February 11, 2009 on a bill regarding the ban of phosphorus in lawn fertilizer and on February 25, 2009 Conservation Lobbying Day will occur at the state capital.
