The next Board of Directors meeting is Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Town Hall at 9:30 a.m. Jim Herbrand expressed concern about the number of carp along Howard Drive and inquired if there was any plan to net carp. The Inland Lake District will be asked if there are any plans. Mike Burica stated that water clarity and reduction in pollution should continue to be a focus. Motion made by Bill and seconded by George to accept report. All in favor motion carried. Lou also reported that she had sent a follow-up mailing to approximately 250 perspective members encouraging them to join the organization and pay their dues of $30.00. More than 30 property owners have already responded and more are expected. Lou provided a financial report for the July 18th Round Robin. This event raised $5,114.00 for the organization to use in lake and community improvement efforts. Lou also provided reports listing the T-shirt inventory and a membership report which showed 276 paid members to-date. The FLPO sponsored Concert in the Park is August 7th with the concession stand opening about 6:00 p.m. George volunteered to provide his truck to help haul items to the park. The golf outing is set for August 15th at the Fox Lake Golf Club. Bill reported that 13 foursomes have signed up and paid. He expects to reach his goal of 18 foursomes. Three major raffles will be available including a cedar pier bench, a dine-around, and a booze basket. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and participants will be able to purchase 3 mulligans for $10.00 and one save-a-stroke string per team for $5.00. Door prizes are still needed. Louis is still waiting for the fish stocking supplier to submit the fish testing results and will then be able to apply for a DNR permit for stocking. Louis will approach the Inland Lake District regarding the bog at the bridge on County Road A and encourage a meeting including the FLPO, the Inland Lake District and the Town to address possible plans for removal. The City of Fox Lake and the Fox Lake Fire Department have approved the installation of a Disc Golf course at Fireman’s Park as proposed by Living Hope Church. Jim made a motion seconded by Bill to donate $300.00 for the purchase of one basket for a hole at the course. All in favor motion carried. Dona Turgeon has volunteered to continue helping with the newsletter mailing and updating the web-site but has relinquished the other secretary duties. Hopefully by the October meeting a person will be identified for these duties. The Fox Lake Correctional Institution has been identified as a site for the State of Wisconsin prison system dairy farm. This could mean up to 10,000 cows to be contained at the correctional site 1 ½ miles of Fox Lake and having serious effects on the lake. Ed will compose a letter to be included with the next newsletter which members may use to contact responsible officials expressing concern and objection to this dairy cattle operation. Motion made to adjourn by George and seconded by Tom. All in favor motion carried. Respectfully submitted, Ed Benter
