MINUTES OF FOX LAKE PROPERTY OWNERS, INC. Sat. October 3, 2009 at Fox Lake Town Hall Present: Ed Benter, Doris Rottmann, Tom Mueller, Tim Meekma, George Salaj, Bob Bergmann, Sarah Drzewiecki, Jon Prochnow, and Treasurer-Lou Benter. Absent: Jim Roehr, Linda Knueppel, and Bill Knueppel. Also present were Louis Leizinger, supporting board member, Armond Alsteen and Dennis Bosanec. Meeting called to order by President Ed Benter @ 10:45 A.M. after the public informational meeting regarding the proposed dairy farm at the Fox Lake Correctional Institution which was attended by approximately 80 persons and six officials representing the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. The next Board of Directors meeting is Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Town Hall at 9:30 a.m. Motion made by Doris and seconded by Tim to approve the minutes of the August meeting. All in favor motion carried. The Treasurer’s report was submitted by Lou. Motion made by Tom and seconded by George to accept report. All in favor motion carried. Lou asked to add to the minutes that the membership of the organization is now higher than it has been in the last three years. Louis reported that the fish stocking is complete with 335 northern, 1,350 walleye and 10,000 perch being stocked in the lake. He also stated that the Board may wish to consider eliminating the fishing contest because of a lack of participation, there were no fish registered in either August or September. Tom made a motion seconded by Tim to discontinue the fishing contest. All in favor motion carried. The FLPO events for 2010 were scheduled. Lou will organize a winter get-together for February, 2010. The Parade of Homes will be on June 19, 2010 with Linda in charge. The Special Friends Outing will be on June 26, 2010 with Doris and Louis in charge. The Round Robin on the Lake will occur on July 17, 2010 with all Board members assuming responsibility and making suggestions for “tweaking” the event. Sara and Bill will organize the Golf Outing with a date to be determined after contacting the Fox Lake Golf Club. Sara volunteered to assume secretarial duties including minutes and correspondence such as thank you notes. Ed will contact Dona Turgeon to verify that she will continue helping get the newsletter printed and mailed and also updating the web-site. Tim said he was fairly sure that Sandy would be willing to help with the newsletter mailing. The Fox Lake Visitors Guide will contain the same information as in past years regarding the Property Owners, including the dates of our events. Armond Alsteen presented information about the need to update the aerator system on Fox Lake. He, Jim Herbrandt and Bill Chapman along with the Parks & Lakes committee of the Town Board will be looking into this matter. Tom made a motion seconded by Sara to continue to support the children’s activities at December to Remember with a donation of $200.00. All in favor motion carried.
