MINUTES OF FOX LAKE PROPERTY OWNERS, INC. Sat. December 5, 2009 at Fox Lake Town Hall Present: Ed Benter, Tom Mueller, Tim Meekma, George Salaj, Bob Bergmann, Sarah Drzewiecki, Linda Knueppel, and Treasurer-Lou Benter. Absent: Jim Roehr, Jon Prochnow, Doris Rottman, and Bill Knueppel. Also present were Louis Leizinger, supporting board member. Meeting called to order by President Ed Benter @ 9:30 A.M. The next Board of Directors meeting is Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Town Hall at 9:30 a.m. Motion made by Tim and seconded by George to approve the minutes of the October meeting. All in favor motion carried. The Treasurer’s report was submitted by Lou. Motion made by Tom and seconded by George to accept report. All in favor motion carried. The Winter Get-Together open to all property owners and friends is scheduled for January 31, 2010 at Schaumburg’s beginning at noon. with a family style dinner including Swiss steak and broasted chicken at a cost of $15.75, tax and tip included. Call Lou at 928-3150 to reserve your place. The Special Friends Outing will be on June 26, 2010 with Doris and Louis in charge. It will be limited to 50 persons including chaperones. The Special Friends will be coming from the Christian Home in Waupun and the Bethesda Home in Fox Lake. Pontoon rides will only be provided followed by a lunch, there will be no fishing. The Round Robin on the Lake will occur on July 17, 2010. Board members were encouraged to come up with ideas for events and fund raising. Lou plans to have a scavenger hunt with some new twists and possible expansion. She also suggested a golfing contest at one of the establishments. Louis generously offered to once again contribute to the cost of a meat raffle. The Department of Corrections has not been in contact with FLPO since the October meeting. Representative Jeff Fitzgerald and Senator Scott Fitzgerald have written a letter to that agency urging them to find a different site for consolidated dairy operation. The Inland Lake District is using their attorney to express concerns and objections to various state agencies and officials. Steve Kallenbach, commercial carp fisherman, removed nearly forty thousand pounds of carp from Fox Lake in mid November and reported that he did not net any small carp and stated that carp fry are probably being eaten by game fish in the lake. Tim reported that the Dodge County Association of Lakes is considering supporting a part-time person through the Land Conservation Department to approach farmers and urge lake friendly soil conservation and spreading practices. This group may seek a contribution from the FLPO to support the cost of such a person The removal of the bog at the County Road A bridge will continue to be pursued.
