Meeting Minutes
Fox Lake Property Owners Board of Directors Meeting
Saturday, February 6, 2010 9:30 a.m.
Fox Lake Town Hall
Present: Ed Benter, Tom Mueller, Tim Meekma, George Salaj, Bob
Bergmann, Sarah Drzewiecki, Jon Prochnow, Linda Knueppel, Bill
Knueppel, and Treasurer-Lou Benter. Absent: Jim Roehr, Doris
Rottmann. Also present: Louis Leizinger, supporting board member,
and Armond Alsteen
Meeting called to order by President Ed Benter at 9:30 a.m.
Public Input/Concerns: None
Minutes from Dec. 5, 2009: Motion by George; 2nd by Tom to approve
minutes as written. All in favor, motion carried.
Treasurers Report: Submitted by Lou Benter, Motion by Tom; 2nd by Tim
to accept report. All in favor, motion carried.
Communications: None
Old Business
Item 1: Fish Committee
Met Jan. 29, 2010 at Town Hall. Committee reviewed Fox Lake Fall
Electrofishing Summary Report - 2009. Committee will wait for
recommendation from DNR with regards to what types of fish should be
stocked in the lake - suggestion from Lou to consider stocking Musky.
Muskies had been stocked in the past, however for various reasons that
stopped. Committee reports that game fish population is up and carp
are either down or holding their own. Committee recommends up to
$5000 be set aside for fish stocking. This amount would include $
already set aside in budget for these purposes.
Item 2: Events
Parade of Homes - July 19, 2010 Chair Linda Knueppel
Looking for houses to participate; Fish and Fun has agreed to host
event
Special Friends Outing - June 26, 2010 Chair Louie Leizinger
Bethesda Lutheran will send 12-15
clients. Louie will contact ARCh (Association for
Rights of Citizens with handicaps for up
to 25 more friends. Fishing TBD.
Round Robin on the Lake - July 17, 2010
Much discussion occurred. All interested Board members will meet at
a future date to
finalize details to present to Board as a whole at next meeting
April, 2010.
Golf Outing - August 14, 2010 Chair Bill Knueppel
Concerts in the Park - Summer 2010
The Board previously voted to donate money to the concerts. Due to
lack of profit this
will no longer be a fund raising event.
Item 3: FLCI Dairy Farm
No news. Tim reports the Department of Nat. Resources sent Notice
of Hearing to propose increase of standards for future runoff
pollution. Hearings will be held all over
state. Sandy Meekma has graciously volunteered to write a letter
on behalf of the
Property owners to support new regulations. Tim and Sandy will
attend meeting.
Item 4: WAL Annual Convention
Wisconsin Association of Lakes annual convention will be held in
Green Lake March
30-April 1, 2010. Fox Lake would like representation and will pay
fees.
Item 5: Bog Removal
No information at this time
New Business
Item 1: License for Pull Tabs
Motion by Linda; 2nd by Bill to sell existing box of pull tabs for
$125.00 to local business.
At this time, the property owners will not renew their License to
sell Pull-Tabs.
Item 2: 503C Status
At this time, the Fox Lake Property Owners is not a Non-Profit
Organization. Benefits
include an ability to accept private and public grants while
enjoying tax-exempt status.
In addition, a non-profit shields all from personal liability. At
the very least, non-profit
status allows us a reduced rate in postage for all of our bulk
mailings.
There will be a filing charge for non-profit status, regular reports
need to be filed,
and an attorney would need to be retained. The Board will
continue to investigate the
gain vs. cost.
Other
1. Armond Alsteen attended to publicly thank Bill Knueppel for
calling him to alarm him that there was a faulty aerator that had
produced a whole in the ice. Armond would like to encourage all
property owners to call him if they notice any dangers on the ice, and
he will attend to them. Armond can be reached at

2. The Fox Lake Property Owners Board would like to publicly thank
Armond Alsteen for his diligence in tending the aerators and all of
his donated time to the lake and the holders of property on the lake.
