November 3, 2007 Meeting Minutes
Minutes of the meeting of the Fox Lake Property Owners, Inc., Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Fox Lake Town Hall. Absent: Ed Benter, Lou Benter. Guests: George Salaj, Gordon Snyder & Kurt Heckl. . Minutes: Minutes were read by the Secretary, motion to accept by Tim, second by Ted, motion carried. Financial Report: Debbie had copies of Lou’s current report, it was asked why Sandy Murphy’s name was one of the Fish Contest recipients…..we will ask Lou. Motion to accept by Dona, second by Bob, motion carried. (Note by Dona: Two entries from the September contest did not qualify as members so the next winner in line was Sandy Murphy, sorry I didn’t remember at the meeting.) Old Business: Fish Committee: Louie had pics of the Fall Fish Stocking, passed around and Dona put on the bulletin board. Kurt mentioned that the Commercial Carp Fisherman was out and didn’t net any carp. There are still 4 tagged carp out there. Pig Roast: Debbie had information from Ed that Dick Martin is running a Pork Chop Dinner at the American Legion if anyone wants to test it out, since we might have him for the Annual Fund Raiser. Winter Get-Together: Lou left a report that she had contacted Annaka at Fish ‘n Fun for possible Comedy Afternoon 3/2/08 or 3/9/08, she would be able to accommodate us. This brought up discussion if we really want Comedy or keep it dinner only. Some people thought a Comedy Show wouldn’t necessarily promote “socialness” since we’d be watching the show instead of socializing. Motion made by Ted, seconded by Bob not to have a Comedy event. Motion carried 9 to 1. Motion by Dona, second by Bob to ask if Lou will arrange an afternoon dinner for 3/2 or 3/9/08, at the next place in the lineup, everyone thought the new Twin Shores would be great and would generate a lot of interest. Motion carried. Tim thought nametags would promote more conversation, we all agreed. Debbie suggested Door Prizes??? Tee Shirts: Ted didn’t offer a quote, he said let the previous quote have it. . Any Other Old Business: Website: Tim mentioned that the site looked great but where were the dates for 2008 events? Louie asked why some of the pictures were turned sideways. Dona will correct this. New Business: December To Remember: Lou left Debbie an invitation from the Chamber of Commerce to participate in this annual event the first weekend in December. There is a Christmas Parade, Brunch with Santa, Lighting of the Tree…..there was an interest to have a float, but probably not in time for this year….this float would advertise our Annual Fund Raiser. Also interest to donate money but want to make sure it benefits kids. Motion by Tim, second by Tom to donate not to exceed $200.00 to supplant Kid‘s Brunch with Santa. This would be at Debbie Green’s discretion after she contacts organizers on how this can be effected. Next Meeting: Motion by Ted, second by Tom to not have a December meeting, motion carried. Motion to Adjourn: Motion by Ted, second by Bob, motion carried.
