FLPO minutes meeting Saturday Nov. 5, 2011 Present: board members Tim Meekma, Bob Bergman, Ed Benter, George Salaj, Tom Mueller, Linda Knueppel, supporting member Louie Leitinger, and guests Jill Benson, Kathy, secretary from the Fox Lake Town Hall, and Bill and Joan Schmitz of Schmitz Farms Meeting called to order by Tim Meekma Public Input: Bill and Joan Schmitz came to explain as the new owners of the mobile home park located between Chief Kuno and Howard Dr., they have not put in new tiling, rather, replaced existing. They wanted it noted that they did all work in accordance with all existing laws and have been working with the Beaver Dam Water Shed Project for several years. Tim noted that, as stated in recent Tides article, being within the law does not mean it is healthy for the lake. He continued by giving statistics of tile water tested on Fox Lake , although neither had statistics of the Schmitz's tiling as this it seems, has never been tested. Tim agreed to note in the upcoming Tides that his article, though based on fact, was his opinion. Bob requested that the Schmitz's also submit to him an article regarding their position. Motion to approve minutes from Sept. 3, 2011 made by Bob, second by George. Motion carried. Financial Report: motion to approve by Ed, second by George. Discussion brought up by Louie regarding due increase for 2012 as the organization is financially sound at present. Explained decision was made earlier in year to decrease number of fundraisers and increase dues. This would need to be changed at annual meeting if so desired. It was also recommended to see if membership could also include a subscription to the Representative. This may be pursued at a later date. Communications: A letter had been received inviting FLPO members to the Chamber of Commerce dinner November & at the Boathouse. Membership Update: As the result of the mailing sent out in Sept to previous members, membership has increased from approx. 250 to 300. T-shirt Sales Feedback: website seems difficult to navigate. it was requested to have more color options and less busy to accommodate female taste. Next delivery Dec. 15. Tim Nehls has requested we purchase a number of sweatshirts to sell at Fish Tales. It was decided to purchase 30 sweatshirts in size M, L, XL. Motion made by Ed, second by Tim. Winter Outing: Most likely to be at either Hayes or the Boathouse. Bob will investigate prices and set with desired establishment. Linda volunteered to take reservations. Date is set for Feb. 4. December to Rememeber: No information has been received. we will still donate $300 if request is received. Motion by George, second by Bob. New Business: Julie Fleming has submitted a request to donate to the Bunny Berigan Concert, scheduled for May18-20, 2012. She has offered free tickets for donating, $1000 donation would net 30 tickets; $750- 22 tickets; and $500- 14 tickets. We would also be listed as sponsors on the weekend schedule of events. It was decided to discuss this at a later date. Next meeting scheduled for Jan 7,2012. Motion to adjourn made by George, second by Tom. Meeting adjourned.
