January 5, 2008 Meeting Minutes
Minutes of the meeting of the Fox Lake Property Owners, Inc., Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Fox Lake Town Hall. Absent: Debbie Green, Tom Mueller, Bob Bergman, Tim Meekma. Guests: Gordon Snyder. Meeting was called to order. Next Board Meeting will be Saturday, February 2, 2008. Minutes: Minutes were read by the Secretary, motion to accept by Doris, second by Jim, motion carried. Financial Report: Lou supplied copies to all. Motion to accept by Doris, second by Linda, motion carried. Old Business: Ed read a Thank You letter from the December to Remember Committee, they appreciated our donation. Fish Committee: First Louie told us about Tom Mueller having a stroke on Christmas Eve and explaining the long recovery involved, he said he wouldn’t be able to do as much running around as in previous years. Regarding fish, he asked if there will be any stocking….general opinion seems to be we will stock again however the Fish Committee will meet and bring their suggestions to the board. Pig Roast: Dona got a quote from “Out of Thyme Catering”, a Beaver Dam business, for Roast Pig/Chicken, two sides, plates, etc., serving from 4-7pm, 300-350 people for $800-$1,000, depending on market price. Board agreed to move forward and she will send the signed contract with deposit, back to them. Motion to accept by Bill, second by Linda, motion carried. Ted offered to handle all the Grill duties, shopping and grilling, he’ll work with Bob Bergman who handled the volunteers last year, we’ll see if Bob will do that again. The raffle drawing will be at 8pm, food from 4-7pm, band from 4-8pm, total event from 2-8pm. We’ll have our bar and grill open at 2pm, along with walk around raffles, over under table and Kid’s Tent. Winter Get Together: Lou will continue to book a place for our event, tentative date 3/2/08, 11:30 cocktails, followed by dinner. She hasn’t heard from The Shores yet. Any Other Old Business: Since Dona will be gone from February through June, Lou asked if anyone could take minutes and help with any other secretarial duties…..Linda volunteered Debbie Green. New Business: None came up. Any Other New Business: Lou brought up about large donations for Pig Roast Fund Raiser. Louie again offered to donate toward the hind quarter beef raffle. Ted Kahlow did too. So did Bill and Linda Knueppel. It was agreed they would split it three ways, a Hind Quarter. Bill Knueppel will talk to someone he knows and maybe get some of the meat donated. We will either have Brandon process or maybe talk to Bednarek’s in Fox Lake. Agreed to sell only 300 tickets. Louie will talk to Gordie again about a gun. We will sell 300 tickets on that too. Lou Benter has a “Boat” style wood bookcase she will donate, we’ll sell 500 tickets on that, increments of 1 for $5.00 or 3 for $10.00. Bill Knueppel offered to donate a “Booze Basket”.
