September 10, 2007 Monthly Board Meeting
Town of Fox Lake Monthly Board Meeting Monday, September 10, 2007 at 8:15 p.m. Chairman Wagner called the Town Board meeting to order with all officers present and 8 other citizens. The next monthly meeting will be October 8, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. The Fox Lake Fire Association will meet Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. Supervisor Streich made a motion seconded by Supervisor Babros to accept the minutes of the Town Board Meeting of August 13, 2007. All in favor motion carried. The Treasurer’s report as of August 31, 2007 showed receipts for August, 2007 of $162,091.76, disbursements of $94,812.23, with a balance in the regular checking account of $136,889.38. The LGIPF account had no interest receipts as yet recorded with a balance of $185,072.79 and the Tax Savings Account had no activity with a balance of $308,370.32. Supervisor Babros made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Wissing to accept the Treasurer’s report. All in favor motion carried. Louis Leizinger questioned the times for the operation of personal watercraft on Fox Lake and was informed that the ordinance limits the operation of personal watercraft to the hours of 10:00 a.m. to sunset. Officer Mosher provided the Board with the Police report. In August, 2007 the police officers worked 139 hours, responded to 4 complaints, assisted others 2 times, issued 4 warnings and 24 citations.. Supervisor Streich stated that Spring Road shouldering was begun today, 9/10/07, and that he had installed reflective red strips on most Town stop sign posts. Supervisor Babros thanked Supervisor Streich because the reflective strips certainly stand out at night. Chairman Wagner reported that he had been requested to install deer crossing signs on Lake Emily Road to cover the area from Brave Road to N. Parish Road. Supervisor Streich will order the deer crossing signs. The major trash pickup held during the week after Labor Day went well. Clerk-Treasurer Benter reported that a citation for $172.00 had been mailed by the town police to an individual scavenging metal from the road side on September 3, 2007. Clerk-Treasurer Benter presented a table showing the history of the Town of Fox Lake equalized property value from 1994 through 2007. Values have increased 202% over this 13 year period. The assessed value of the Town is 98.64% of the state established equalized value. Supervisor Streich made a motion seconded by Supervisor Babros to support the DeZarn Trust land division creating a new 2 lot certified survey map of parcels 1634-002 and 1634-004 located on County Highway A just south of the Cambra Creek inlet and to inform the Dodge County Land Resources & Parks Department of such support. All in favor motion carried. Supervisor Babros made a motion seconded by Supervisor Wissing to support a variance for the Terrence and Rose Wiesbrock property (parcel # 018-1313-1424-022) at W10325 Shorecrest Drive to permit the construction of a 28’ x 32’ detached garage and to inform the Dodge County Land Resources & Parks Department of such support. All in favor motion carried. The date for the Town Board budget preparation meeting was set for Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. Supervisor Wissing will coordinate the activities required to ensure that aerators on Lake Emily and Fox Lake are ready for operation for the winter of 2007-08. Supervisor Babros requested that the formula used by the Fox Lake Fire Association to allocate annual dues to the municipalities be reviewed at the next Town Board meeting. Supervisor Wissing made a motion seconded by Supervisor Babros to pay bills subject to audit. All in favor motion carried. Supervisor Babros made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Wissing to adjourn.
