November 10, 2008 Monthly Board Meeting
Town of Fox Lake Monthly Board Meeting Monday, November 10, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. Chairman Wagner called the Town Board meeting to order with all 5 officers present (Supervisor Streich absent) and 7 other citizens. The next monthly meeting will be December 8, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. The Fox Lake Fire Association will meet Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. Supervisor Babros made a motion seconded by Supervisor Lehman to accept the minutes of the Town Board Meeting of October 13, 2008. All in favor motion carried The Treasurer’s report as of October 31, 2008 showed receipts for October, 2008 of $20,224.60, a transfer from the Municipal Court Savings Account of $3,334.40, disbursements of $37,124.39, with a balance in the regular checking account of $202,209.28. The LGIPF account had interest receipts for October of $310.00 with a balance of $192,996.62. The Tax Savings Account had no activity with a balance of $2,090.18. The Municipal Court Savings Account had receipts in fines and assessments of $1,936.60 and a transfer to regular checking of $3,334.40 with a balance of $3,871.62. Supervisor Wissing made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Lehman to accept the Treasurer’s report. All in favor motion carried. Armond Alsteen inquired if there were any restrictions regarding solar power or windmills in the town. There are none. He also asked about requests made for funds by Kim Derleth and Julie Quade and was informed that some funds were placed in the 2009 budget. Officer-in-charge Gebhardt presented the Police and Lake Patrol report. In October, 2008 the police officers worked 112.5 hours, responded to 2 complaints, assisted other agencies 3 times, issued 3 warnings and 5 citations, assisted EMS 1 time and responded to 3 accidents. The public hearing on the road discontinuance and conveyance to Grace Klug produced no comment. The resolution passed at the October 13, 2008 is accepted and a quit claim deed will be prepared transferring the parcels described in that resolution to Mrs. Klug. Supervisor Babros made a motion seconded by Supervisor Lehman to adopt a Town of Fox Lake Budget for 2009 of $698,736.00. All in favor motion carried. Supervisor Wissing made a motion seconded by Supervisor Babros to adopt the Lake Patrol Policies for 2009. All in favor motion carried. No information was available as to the number of buoys needed to be purchased for 2009. Action was delayed to a future meeting. Clerk-Treasurer Benter reported that papers to be completed by persons interested in running in the 2009 Spring Election for the offices of Chairman, Supervisor #1, Supervisor #2, Clerk-Treasurer, and Municipal Judge are available and nomination papers can be circulated as of December 1, 2008. Supervisor Babros made a motion seconded by Supervisor Lehman to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement with Dodge County for the purpose of collecting special assessments as part of the property tax collection process. All in favor motion carried. Supervisor Babros made a motion seconded by Supervisor Wissing to pay bills subject to audit. All in favor motion carried.
