November 12, 2007 Monthly Board Meeting
Town of Fox Lake Monthly Board Meeting Monday, November 12, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. Chairman Wagner called the Town Board meeting to order with 4 officers present, absent were Supervisor Streich and Supervisor Wissing, and 9 other citizens. The next monthly meeting will be December 10, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. The Fox Lake Fire Association will meet Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. Supervisor Babros made a motion seconded by Supervisor Lehman to accept the minutes of the Town Board Meeting of October 8, 2007. All in favor motion carried. The Treasurer’s report as of October 31, 2007 showed receipts for October, 2007 of $38,122.93, disbursements of $33,162.77, with a balance in the regular checking account of $258,490.40. The LGIPF account had interest receipts for October of $768.35 with a balance of $187,411.85 and the Tax Savings Account had no activity with a balance of $606.78. Supervisor Babros made a motion, seconded by Supervisor Lehman to accept the Treasurer’s report. All in favor motion carried. Officer Mosher provided the Board with the Police report. In October, 2007 the police officers worked 102.25 hours, responded to 3 complaints, assisted others 5 times, issued 4 warnings and 7 citations. Louis Leizinger expressed a concern about speeding on Chief Kuno Trail and wondered if the Dodge County Sheriff could be asked to patrol that road. Officer Mosher indicated he would correspond with the Sheriff’s department to determine if the northwest vehicle could patrol Chief Kuno Trail. Chairman Wagner reported on Fox Lake Correctional Institution meeting stating that there are 1,370 prisoners at that site, including some females. He also stated that the FLILPRD and our state representatives are meeting with the warden and staff regarding the high nitrate levels of water in Drew Creek emptying into Fox Lake. Sympathy was expressed to the family upon the death of Roland Bussian. Rollie had been picking up metal during the two special trash collection weeks each year and someone else will have to be found if this service is to continue. For the Parks & Lakes Committee Chairman Wagner reported that he had been informed by Supervisor Wissing that the aerators on both Fox Lake and Lake Emily are ready for operation. Supervisor Babros made a motion seconded by Supervisor Lehman to adopt a Town of Fox Lake Budget for 2008 of $679,273.00. All in favor motion carried. Supervisor Lehman made a motion seconded by Supervisor Babros to adopt the Lake Patrol Policies for 2008. All in favor motion carried. Clerk-Treasurer Benter reported that papers to be completed by persons interested in running in the 2008 Spring Election for the offices of Supervisor #3 and Supervisor #4 are available and nomination papers can be circulated as of December 1, 2007. Supervisor Babros made a motion seconded by Supervisor Lehman to issue intoxicating liquor and fermented beverage licenses to Charles & Randall Neuman d/b/a The Shores of Fox Lake at N10604 Chief Kuno Trail and to also issue an operators license to Charles M. Neuman. All in favor motion carried. Supervisor Babros made a motion seconded by Supervisor Lehman to pay bills subject to audit. All in favor motion carried.
